Jadon And The Rodeo

Jadon had his first experience going to the Rodeo. Mema and Pappy took him and Gavin for the fun evening. Check out Mema's blog to see some great pictures of the evening.

Weekend Full of Jump Mania

The kids had what they would consider a great weekend. They got to go to Jump Mania on Friday and Saturday. We went Friday with Angela, Zoe and Link and another friend from my school days and her 2 children. It was a mad house, we could barely fit in the door there were so many children there. But we braved the mass amounts of children for an hour then went to Chick-fil-a where we met up with the rest of the families in Springfield. Apart from picking the same hang out places as the rest of Springfield we had a great time and Angela and I were able to catch up with a highschool friend.

On Saturday the Hirsch family came to Springfield and we again headed to Jump Mania. This place is perfect for kids to run around crazy when the weather is less than desirable for playing outside. Saturday was much less crowded, thankfully. Here's pictures of our Saturday night jumping session.
The girls climbing up to go down the big slide. This was Belle and Haven's favorite.

Juttlebug

This has become our nickname for Jude. It reminds me of the song by Wham! Jitterbug, which I know is not the real name of the song. I think it's Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go. It is quite catchy and I find myself walking around saying, a juttlebug. And now Haven, our little singer, is doing it to.

Why I went into all of that I have no idea. I really wanted to just do a post on how this little juttlebug is now walking. Yes, at 13 months the guy decided he would start walking for us. Up to this point our attempts to get him to walk were futile. He absolutely refused to do it for anyone, even though we had caught him several times walking when he thought no one was looking. Little stinker! We finally decided to leave him alone about it and now that it is all his idea he's all about the walking. Again, little stinker!

I love it because Jadon and Haven get so excited for him and clap and cheer and Jude gets this really cute, goofy grin on his face.

Here's the guy doing his walking thing. He's so cute! I just want to gobble him up!

He's so proud of himself. And look at all those teeth in that handsome smile.

Dare To Love Getaway

Todd and I had a great getaway weekend March 13 & 14 with almost 40 other couples from our church. We stayed at Stonebridge in Branson, MO and just had a great time of relaxing and hanging out with other couples. My mom was very wonderful in watching our children.

I got to be a part of the planning committee, which was incredibly fun. We started planning several months ago and at each meeting my excitement grew for this weekend retreat. My favorite part of the planning was getting down to the rooms early on Friday and putting sparkling grape juice, chocolate covered strawberries and wine glasses in each room. We also stocked the lodges with breakfast foods and juice and water for the next day.

We had an amazing dinner on Friday night in an absolutely beautiful room. We all then went back to our lodges and watched Fireproof and then the rest of the evening and morning was ours to do with what we wanted. Saturday afternoon a group of us went to the outlet mall and then to Branson Landing for lunch and more shopping.

I so enjoyed this beautiful weekend, I enjoyed the planning and the participating. I can't wait until we do another church marriage retreat weekend. A big huge thanks to Jen for thinking of and putting this together.

Here is a picture of the beautiful lodge we stayed in. Each lodge has a living area with kitchen and 4 bedrooms with each room having it's own jacuzzi tub, very nice!

The Week In Review

This past week was very full in the Wallace household. We started it off with a many a puppet shows put on by Jadon and Haven. The shows were very entertaining. I loved watching their imaginations at work, they would practice and practice then when ready they would come get us. By the last show it had turned to potty humor, Haven sitting there doing tooty sounds with her mouth while Jadon told some story about going to the bathroom. The hands were used to let us know when we were to clap.I've spent most of the week dealing with Haven getting up at 9:00pm because she's hungary. This is after eating a full dinner and having a snack right before bed. I do believe she and Jadon are going to eat us out of the house, with Haven's late night snacking and Jadon's breakfast consisting of yogurt, cereal and a piece of toast. This is also the week that Jadon's jeans have become too short for him.

Jude still refuses to walk. He will take a step and if you notice he quickly stops and starts crawling. He is so stinking stubborn! Thankfully his teeth are less stubborn than him, his 5th one has come through.

The week ended with the most beautiful weather of the year. We celebrated by having our first zoo trip of the year. Jude loved all the animals. Spending the day outside was a great way to end the week.
Jude and Haven checking out the monkeys that were feeling a little frisky in the beautiful weather. Jude was feeling very tired by this photo, we skipped the morning nap to take in the zoo. Todd also experienced a first this week. His first ever strep throat incident. His direct quote, "I could go a lifetime without having experienced this." Those of you who have had the misfortune of having strep understand. He did well though and has come through it.
