Seeing the Fruits of our Prayers

It is nice when you get to see a glimpse of prayers being answered. When we found out we were pregnant and we were having a little boy, we knew we would name him Jadon Creed. We started praying that he would be a builder of God's Kingdom and a lover of His Word. On Sunday Jadon came and asked if he could take his Bible to class with him, his nice Bible we bought and had engraved for his 1st Birthday. So, we had a talk about how you are to take care of your Bible because it is God's word and let him take it. He did not put his Bible down, he walked into class set it on the table and opened it up and told everyone about his Bible. I peeked in on him a couple of times and he made my heart smile every time I saw him telling stories from it.

Every day since then he has continued to ask to get his Bible. He gets it down off his shelf, takes it out of the box and opens it and reads from it. Yesterday, he prayed from it and he read to me the story of Jesus walking on the water. Except in his interpretation Jesus walked on the river. This is what we have been praying for his life, he would love God and His Word. What sweet music to our ears and hearts.

New musical instrument

Daddy and Jadon had a boys day out a couple of Saturdays ago, they went to lunch and then went out to Mardel's. They came back with presents, I got the new Switchfoot cd and Jadon and Haven got a recorder. You know those things that they give you in music class in grade school to hopefully get you interested in band. Jadon absolutely loves his recorder, he walks around the house playing it, moving his fingers over the holes. Then on his last note he gives a mighty stomp. After he's done he stands there waiting for an applause. When and if he puts it down Haven runs over to play with it. She gets so excited when she can make a sound with it. Her eyes will get really big and she just smiles. She's still learning how to blow into it, but it's fun seeing her try.

It's funny how something so simple can give so much enjoyment. I will add pictures later of them and their recorder.

Fourth of July

I love the Fourth of July, partly because my birthday is the 3rd and growing up we always celebrated my birthday on the 4th. The other reason is because I love my country. Yes, I am one of those people that get teary eyed when I hear the National Athem or when I hear stories of anything patriotic. I truly am thankful for the country I live in, I am a proud American.

Every year for my birthday my mom would buy me a new outfit, of course it was patriotic. I looked forward to getting my new outfit every year. She's even tried to continue this tradition with me as I've gotten older. Well, this year my mom searched and searched but didn't find anything. I find this sad, but my daughter carried on the tradition for me. My grandma bought her the prettiest little dress and I proudly put it on her.

On the 3rd we invited family over to watch fireworks at our home. I love fireworks, but I do not light them. My job is to watch. This is Jadon's second year to get to enjoy them. He loves them as long as someone is sitting right next to him. Haven will get to start enjoying them next year. Here's pictures of Jadon & Gavin enjoying sparklers and then watching the fireworks. I think if Gavin would have let him Jadon would have sat in his lap. I'm not sure why, but Jadon insisted on having his winter mitten on while holding the sparklers. He didn't hold the sparkler with the hand he had the glove on. All I know is it makes sense to him.

Jadon, you can not do this until you are 37 years old.

My Excuse-Morning Sickness

It's been a week since I last wrote something. I was doing so good too. Well, I am going to blame this on the lovely morning sickness, actually scratch the morning part and just call it all day sickness with a headache on top. I love being pregnant, I love when the belly starts sticking out there and I don't even mind the waddling stage. But the first 12 weeks have always been a struggle for me. I don't know how it is even possible for women to experience a sick free pregnancy. I am thankful, thank you Lord, that mine does end after 12 weeks and I don't experience it the entire pregnancy.

Mommy's Got Baby in Belly

I last blogged about Haven being a little mama, little did I know that she was practicing for when new baby brother or sister comes along! Yes, we found out we are expecting baby #4 around February 20. At first we were a little surprised, but what better surprise can you have? The one thing I will say is that my birthday is tomorrow and my mom took me shopping for my birthday. I found a pair of Gianni Bini jeans on clearance at Dillard's. I don't know if I will really get to enjoy them before I outgrow them. I told my pastor that he will be seeing me in jeans until the day I can't wear them anymore. Oh well, it is worth it.

I had my usual Saturday girls outing with my mom, sister & grandma and we took Jadon along with us. Jadon's job was to announce to everyone when they got to our house that "Mommy has a baby in her belly". It was so cute, when they got there he proudly announced "My mommy has baby in belly". Of course everyone was surprised and excited at the same time.

After the Farmer's Market we went to lunch at Chili's for celebration. I have never had their dessert, but if you ever do this is what you have to get, their Molton Chocolate Cake. It is heaven! Thanks mom for the wonderful celebration dessert.

After naps we made it over to Todd's parents, it was pouring down rain. We kept waiting for it to stop, but it just kept coming. So, we decided to get out in it and let Jadon do his announcement. It, of course, did stop when we got there. For celebration with them we got to go to Cracker Barrel and Matt & Lindsay met us there. Good day for me, I was fed food and more food!

I wanted to take a picture to show how good the cake looks, but I took a bite before I thought about it. It is much prettier when they bring it out. Jadon really liked the cake too.
