The Fourth, 30 & A Win

I LOVE this time of year, maybe it's the reminder of the great country I live in and all things being decorated in red, white and blue or maybe it's because it's also my birthday and for years I thought everyone was celebrating my birthday and the fireworks were for me.

This year the festivities went all weekend. It started with celebrating my birthday with my wonderful Bunco ladies on Thursday. Erin made one of her over sized cupcake cakes and her version of the Carmel delite girl scout cookies, yummy! She is making quite a reputation at Springhill for her mad skills.

On Friday mom, the kids and I went shopping and of course we all had on our red, white and blue. I will have to post pictures later. Then, that evening Donna did my birthday dinner. My favorite dinner is a cookout with homemade ice cream and my flag cake. I love my flag cake! Then we all headed over to our house for fireworks.

Mema took Jadon to pick out some fireworks and he had the best time picking them out. He, on the other hand, did not have the best time shooting them off. He ran in the house and hid only to stick his head out every once in a while to see if we were done. Crazy boy, I couldn't even get him to do sparklers, which he normally loves. The rest of us had a great time shooting off the stuff he picked out.

We capped the weekend off with a Cardinals game against the Cubs on Saturday. My mom bought the family tickets on the first base line, it was awesome. I will have pictures of that as well. My mom & dad, Mal & Matt, JC & grandma and me & Todd, we had a great time and got to see a great game! The kids stayed the day with Mema and Pappy. I put them all in their Cardinal gear and told them to remember to root for the Cardinals. It must of worked because it was the only game they took in the series.

I just want to add that I am thankful for those who serve this great country and for those who have given the ultimate sacrifice. Angela, my dear friend, I will never forget the price your brother and family paid for the freedoms my family has.

I don't know if any of you are wondering or even noticed the title of today's entry. In case you are and are thinking to yourself why did she put 30 in the title. Well, that just happens to be the number of years ago my mom gave birth to me. Thanks mom and dad for loving me for 30 great years.

Sounds like a great weekend! You need to go to the Cardinal's games more often to cheer them on to victory!
